Safety is the foundation for each day of rafting trip with Contact India. When you are running
big Himalayan whitewater in remote wilderness, professional guidance and gear really matter. We
take your safety seriously at all levels, blending international protocols with years of
experience on the river for a safe and fun ride.
1. Expert, Certified Rafting Guides
Each journey is conducted by expert guides who hold IRF (International Rafting Federation)
certifications and possess a wealth of experience in tackling the rivers of Uttarakhand. Their
profound understanding of the flow of water and rescue procedures terrain ensures that every leg of
the journey in not part of any provincial solutions.
Our guides don’t just run the raft — they teach you how to paddle effectively, how to communicate on
the river, and how to respond to rapid maneuvers. They're professional adventurers who know exactly
how to blend excitement with safety, so you can push your limits with peace of mind.
2. Top-Quality Equipment & Safety Gear Standards
All the equipment used in our expeditions fulfills the requirements of the international river
safety standards. High quality helmets, paddles, buoyancy jackets, wetsuits are provided for each
participant. The equipment is subjected to a rigorous inspection before every trip to make sure it
is up to standard.
We also have safety kayaks and rescue ropes available to provide on-the-spot assistance if anyone
finds themselves in the river. On longer trips a support raft containing food, camp gear,
and first-aid
supplies shadows the team, providing continual support.
3. Pre-Expedition Training& Briefing on Safety
Prior to departure, each group receives a comprehensive safety briefing led by our specialists.
The briefing
includes paddle commands, rescue drills, position on the raft, swimming skills and emergency
procedures. This session creates confidence and relaxation in the water for the beginners; and
good team
work for the experienced rafters.
You'll also be introduced to river flow, rapid grades, and what to do if you flip. This sort of
forward-looking preparation ends up making the trip more fun for everyone, and safer.
4. Continuous River Monitoring& Backup Support
Our staff is at all times carefully monitoring the weather, the river levels and the nature of the
river using all sources of local and internet information. The course of the expedition the schedule
and the route can be changed for your safety if any sudden changes occur. There are emergency
evacuation plans and communications systems the entire trip, even in the wilderness.
