The Intermediate Kayaking Training is the next step after taking a Foundation course or having some basic paddling experience. It is for paddlers prepared for mild to moderate whitewater needing to enhance maneuverability and river sense. Intermediate courses At Rewild India: We run our Intermediate courses in Rishikesh — renowned for its strong Ganga currents — and Kumaon, known for its tranquil yet flowing mountain rivers. This instruction gives participants the opportunity to paddle a variety of water while increasing technique, safety, river knowledge and paddling confidence.

This is the perfect course for anyone that has taken a beginner kayaking course or has some basic paddling experience. They should be at least comfortable on flat water and have the ability to do some very basic paddling and self rescue. The only prerequisites are being able to swim a little bit, being in good physical health, and having a sense of adventure!
You’ll also get advanced running, paddling and navigation techniques for moving rivers such as edging, carving turns and reading currents of water. The course will also address self-rescue and throw-line usage, hazard recognition, and team work on rapids. You should be able to run Class II–III rapids by the end with confidence and safety.
Yes, Rewild India supplies all your safety gear and kayaks. This includes certified helmets, life jackets (PFDs), paddles, kayaks and rescue gear. Before any session, instructors will lead pre-paddle safety briefings and be running eyes-on river supervision. You’ll be taught rescue techniques, emergency procedures and how to respond in a calm, confident manner in any situation.
