No experience necessary! Our course is suitable for people with no previous experience. You’ll begin on calm water to learn the basics of paddle strokes, balancing and safety, among other tips, in a step-by-step approach. At the accounting the course and after that you will be prepared for mild rapids and floating rivers on your own.
The beginner course is appropriate for anyone ages 12 and up who is in reasonably good health. You don’t need to be an athlete, but being able to swim and having general good health makes things easier. Instructors offer modifications for varied fitness levels, allowing everyone to safely keep up the pace.
The regular course is a 3 day class, with a 5-7 day extended version for a more intensive experience. Daytime sessions: paddle drills in the morning; theory and lunch break at midday; river practice in the afternoon; mindfulness/stretching in the evening. This itinerary is designed for alternating learning and resting with a steady – and fun – growth in your outdoor skills.
Yes Rewild India supplies all necessary safety gear, helmets, life jackets (PFDs), kayaks and paddles. You’ll also be taught about safety, self-rescue, and what to do in an emergency. Personal items like water shoes, quick-dry clothing and sunscreen can be brought along to use with rental gear. Always safety first.
Yes, newbies can take training at rishikesh or kumaon whichever they want/ is available. Rishikesh has a section of Ganga which flows smoothly and perfect for practising moving-water skills. Kumaon offers calm lakes and streams for serene testing of the waters. Some students even do both spots for a two-fold program which will build bunk-strong confidence in no time.
